Great idea, with a few bad battery packs December 23, 2008 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I've had the charging station for 6 months now on the original two battery packs and they still hold a charge for hours while playing, and weeks while not playing. Some units shipped with defective battery packs that don't hold a charge or overheat, but most users haven't had that problem (as shown by the majority of good reviews for this product). If yours do, you can pay for shipping and return them, or buy extra battery packs (sold separately). If $25 is too much of a risk for you, stick to the AA's.br /br /PROS:br /* Incredibly convenient! This can't be stressed enough: you will never go back to regular batteries again.br /* Costs a lot less than disposable AA's!br /* Don't have to waste your time sorting, keeping track of, forgetting which ones are charged or dead, and constantly recharging your rechargeable AA's batteries.br /* Matches the Wii, and charger keeps your remotes all in one place.br /* New battery packs are sold separately for $9.br /* It's cheap, and works well the majority of the time.br /br /br /CONS:br /* A few battery packs are defective and overheat, keep an eye on the first few chargings (and feel the back of the remotes) until you are sure that your packs are OK.br /* The Wii Remotes will not fit on the charging station with the Wii Remote Jackets in place. Slide the jacket off the bottom half of the remote when you need to charge the unit (leave the top half on), and replace when done.br /* Getting the remotes to sit properly on the charging station is slightly tedious. If you are an adult, you'll figure it out the first time in about 2 minutes and never have trouble again. It may be trickier to teach a 6-year-old child to do it consistently.br /* If you play the Wii for 10+ hours at a stretch, the battery packs may not last long enough for you.br /* The new gray covers for the battery bay of the make the back of the Wii remote stick out SLIGHTLY. This will cause remotes to stop fitting PERFECTLY into accessories like the Wii Wheel or Wii Zapper. The accessories still work, the buttons work, and they are as playable as before, but they WILL DRIVE YOU NUTS if you are a perfectionist.br /* The charging station only holds two remotes. If you use all four Wii remotes regularly, you will need to rotate remotes or buy a second charging station br /* Not an official Nintendo product. If Nintendo ever makes one, it will likely be better than this product. However, since they have not released such an OBVIOUS money-making accessory for over a year now, I doubt they ever will.br /* The blue recharging light is bright. Don't put the charging station next to the head of your bed.
Never buy battery's again! December 21, 2008 Great charger! Be sure to make sure the lights are blue to show it is charging. The strap can get in the way! Overall, as long as you pay attention to how you place it on the dock so it gets connection, it charges great! I have one and I just bought one for my nephew for Christmas!
Works Great December 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Thank You - It works better than I expected. I like that I can plug the charger into a 110 outlet and not into the console. I will probably buy another one, as I'm thinking about buying 2 more remotes. I received it very quick and in great condition. Thank You
Worth every penny! December 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product is outstanding. I have three so that I can always have at least 2 or 3 wii controlers charged. With four boys you would think they would wear them out but, they charge great and sometimes stay charged for two days.
Great! December 12, 2008 This is a product you definitely need if you have the Wii. Otherwise your controllers will go dead within months of purchase.
