5 out of 5 stars A cool DS game!   August 20, 2008
The World Ends with you has a little of everything. It has a steady plot with twists and great art styles. Its not very difficult to play that the risk/reward system is nice. The harder it is the more you get; makes sense.br /The game also reps the Shibuya district of Tokyo very well as trends, fashion, and style are like a life blood their. Even the characters take this on by what they wear and such.br /br /I would recommend this game to those who like Japanese culture or are a fan of Kingdom Hearts as well as other related games.br /br /5 stars hands down!

5 out of 5 stars Simply Amazing   August 19, 2008

Stop reading my review and buy this game! The World Ends With You is the best RPG since Kingdom Hearts! I've been waiting for a fantastic RPG to come out for ANY system and this just blew me away. This game came out of nowhere and took me by surprise.br /br /The art style is amazing, very cool and well done, so incredibly detailed. It's also very innovative with it's fighting style and use of the stylus. The learning curve is very small and the combat is never boring. I've decided to stop this review, just buy this game, it's perfect, if you like amazing, original story (slightly complex), an amazing battle system and really cool little features that pop up all over the place, then you will love this game. It's long too, you get your money's worth! Gogogogo!

5 out of 5 stars Longlasting RPG Fun   August 13, 2008
The World Ends With You is an amazing RPG set in modern day Shibuya, a district of Tokyo. While the setting may be foreign to most readers here, the writing is such that it explains some of the nuances of the setting without ditching its Japanese roots.br /br /The gameplay is decent. You control two different characters fighting in real time--one with the stylus and the other with the control pad. It is very hectic at first, but it lets you control the harder stylus character while the other goes on auto mode. But controlling both characters is fun when you master it.br /br /The story is amazing. It reads like a short novel at times, and parts of the story have moved me. But that's all good things! I wouldn't pick up the game if you don't care to read a story. (There is voice acting, but only for select scenes.)br /br /The game lasts for quite some time. If you are watching the game days go by and you're worried that the game will be over soon, don't worry, there is a ton of twists and the story seems to keep going and evolving. And when you finally beat the game, there is still yet more to discover. There are even "Xbox Live"-styled achievements to check off when you are done, such as defeating certain noise, collecting items, and there is even a hidden chapter.br /br /Overall, the game is fresh, fun, new, and totally worth the relatively higher price.

5 out of 5 stars wonderful ds game   August 13, 2008
I've just finished playing the game and this is one game that I'll be keeping. At first, I was overwhelmed by the number of chaotic-looking items, pins, and battles. For battles, you have to use both hands and try to focus on both the top and bottom screens - it's a challenge. However, it gets easier after you get more familiar with noises, items and how use attacks. I would recommend saving your progress before going into battles (though you usually do not get any warning before having to battle anything other than noises). This game has a lot of dialogue, which gets annoying when you have to keep pressing the buttons to get going... but it is really the story that makes this game great, so don't skip everything. The graphics and music are also excellent. In addition, there is a side-story after you've beaten the game.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent RPG!   August 8, 2008

I've never much been into RPGs, I usually get stuck or bored by the time I'm barely beyond the exposition. I read the reviews for this game and decided to give it a try based on all of the positive feedback. I have to agree that this is an incredible game for the Nintendo DS and in general. br /br /The storyline sucks you in, the graphics and music are top notch, and the game play is challenging (but not impossible!) at whichever level you set it. The battle/drop system also requires a bit of strategy, which keeps it interesting. I appreciate how the game fully utilizes the purpose of the DS by granting the ability to utilize both screens during battles and/or do battle with the stylus. br /br /What I most love about this game is that once you 'beat' it, it gives you more options to continue playing and opens up new part of each chapter to allow you to uncover more of the story.br /br /Overall, a very impressive game for the DS. I found it hard to put down the first time through, and now that I've beat it I'm very much looking forward to going back and uncovering the rest of the story and the final promised 'surprise'.
