Backward Compatibility January 3, 2009 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
Awesome system, but They dont tell you that this model is not backward compatible with PS2 Games! I just figued it out, and now I wish I had never bought it!
WHY NO BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY?!?!? January 3, 2009 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
So I Need A PS2, A PS3, A PSP, A DS, Wii, And 360??? All After Getting Rid of My PS2 And Games Are Still Coming Out For It. Frustrating. Overall Its An Amazing System, Wish It Had More DVD/DVD-R Compatibility And Of Course PS2 Compatibility. Amazing Graphics And Built In Blu-Ray As Well As Hard-Drive, Way Better Than The 360 And Way More Quiet.
Love playing games and watching movies on this machine!! January 3, 2009 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My husband and I have always been gamers and playstation fans. We bought this system because we are dedicated to Playstation and know that it will not let us down. And we were right! We love the graphics it produces and the fact that you can watch great quality movies- DVD or Blu-Ray, hook up to wireless network, and download movies and games on it, is a major plus. The picture quality on our big HD 1080p screen is great!! We had the remote but found no use for it since it didn't seem to work right, but the controller is wireless anyways, so why spend the extra $25? br /br /I like that you can add your friends to your "friends" list and it will let you know when they sign on or off. This is good if you use the online games and play against or with them. br /br /Overall, I am very happy with the PS3. I also have a Wii and love that too. It is very different. So we have the best of both worlds!!
It looks great even on standard TV January 2, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
You can see where I live and I have no HD TV. On the other hand, I got PS3 because I was PS2 and PS1 owner/fan and still am.br /br /If Wii is better, almost genius-designed and fastest selling, PS3 has best performances considering graphics and technology and has more diverse games. br /br /There is no GTA IV or Tekken or Final Fantasy for Wii, although I love Nintendo dearly and even Wii Sport rules. br /br /XboX 360 is cheaper, but XboX 360 has horrible d-pad and games cost equal for Sony 3 and XboX 360. Sony 3 is third Sony console and Sony means hi quality. Even on standard, not HD TV, Sony 3 looks waaay much better than XboX 360. I am just waiting for Ico 3 and HD TV price drop to see what PS3 can really do.
Magically Delicious! January 2, 2009 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have been debating on purchasing this for a while and I am glad I did. The graphics are great and I love watching Blu Ray's. The only thing that could be better is backward compatibility. It is a shame that Sony had to squeeze more money out of people who still enjoy the PS2 games.
