The Mid 90s XBOX - Goodbye old friend, hello Project64 emulation instead. May 9, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
For those who remember this console.br /- Quicker loading times than the PS1.br /- A 64bit graphics pipeline.br /- The funky controller.br /br /Games:br /- Banjo Kazooie(Best game)br /- Turok (Best graphics)br /- Extreme G (Fastest game)br /- Goldeneye (Best Multiplayer)br /- Blast Corps (Best puzzle game)br /- Pro Evolution Football (Best sports game)br /br /If you have never heard about these games go read about them and you will see why this console was important for games development. For everyone who had, what is a Silicion Graphics (SGI computer) games box, in 1997, 1998, 1999 running 64 bit graphics, then you know how good it was and how it is the games on this thing that made the PS2 all the more possible. Some of these games are now leading developers today.br /br /The only drawback was no cut scenes and nothing really long because the game was on a catridge. Still this box was 64 bit graphics and you got that. Even though it gathers dust now, it is still a classic and integrel part of gaming evolution.br /br /Basically the N64 is now in storage and I have discovered Project64 with Rom emulation capabilities and you can have the whole collection of N64 games running on your PC. Apparently this was around in 1999 well before the N64 stopped producing games in November 2001. Get it.
first and last of its kind... April 19, 2006 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
the n64 is a leap forward in gaming technology with sound and graphics, and the last system to use cartriges, the controllers must be handled like babies, they are extremely fragile, but easy to come by. the best attribute to the 64 are its games that are still popular today, such as:br /Perfect Darkbr /Mortal Kombat Trilogybr /007 Goldeneyebr /Road Rashbr /Star Wars: Shadows Of The Empirebr /If you get this system, you must have the expansion pak, the 64 also offers memory cards, and rumble paks for more familiar gameplay. overall it is a great system, a must have for any gamer with taste.
Amazing and Classic April 14, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Every kid should own an N64 in their lives, it is just purely a classic and amazing system with some of the best games such as: Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Conker's Bad Fur Day, and where would we be without some Mario games?br / Somehow the N64 went out of mass producing, which sucks, thats why I am going to get as many games as possible before they are extremely expensive and almost long gone...br / The N64 was awesome in itself and had some of the best games of the day, with these games it layed down the cement for future sysems like the XBOX who also doesnt need a memory card (it is optional) but the system itself carries the memory.br /br /Truth be told go and buy it if u dont have one before they are all gone!
Playstation is still better March 16, 2006 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Only a handful of games make this a must buybr /br /Conker's Bad Fur Daybr /Super Mario 64br /Goldeneye 007br /Super Mario Kart 64br /Zelda: Ocarina Of Timebr /Perfect Darkbr /Star Wars: Rouge Sqadronbr /Star Wars: Shadows of The Empirebr /br /Those are the titles that I've played and loved...it's worth a purchase
Still love it! March 7, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have owned this system for a couple of years (I lost count) and it still works. I haven't had any problems yet and I still play it every now and then. Even though the PS2 is my favorite, N64 is still a classic.br /The games are very creative and alot of fun, especially Zelda (those were the days). You won't need a multitap or a memory card since it's in the game (I suppose) and there are no loading times. The controller is the only problem I have. After a couple hours of gameplay my hands get soar and hurt. Maybe it's because my hands are big. (Oh well)br /br /Overall, this is the kind of system anyone can enjoy and I highly recommend it along with the Mario games, Zelda games, James Bond games and so on. Trust me, you won't regret it!
