5 out of 5 stars Great game for the wii   November 25, 2008
This is one of those games you don't wanna miss on your Wii. Okami is an adventure/action game, with an awesome art style and equally impressive graphics effects. The story is good as far as you can enjoy the adventure part.br /If you like japanese-style art, you'll fall in love with okami.br /Overall, a pretty good game.

5 out of 5 stars Playstation 2 is AMAZING. Wii... well, sometimes, wiimotes suck   November 18, 2008

I owned and played this game on the PS2 and unquestionably thought it was one of the absolute best games of this genre I had played, excluding The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. br /br /Fast Forward to a month ago.... I had sold my PS2 and really wanted to play the game some more, dig into the collection quests a bit and really just enjoy its inherent beauty. I figured I would buy the Wii version and add the experience of using the Wiimote for the in-game paintbrush movements. br /br /I had the game less than three days before I sold it back. I found nearly impossible and completely frustrating trying to make the lines and circles with the wiimote. I'm not sure if the Wiimote is incredibly sensitive or if I just cant make a straight line in the air. Either way, it's not fun. Having to try to paint over parts of the screen three and four times or trying to make three lines in a row (required to advance the story) was nearly impossible for me. br /br /If you have a have a PS2, you must buy and play this game. If you don't.. get one... don't settle for the Wii version. br /

This is a great game, really enjoyed it. The wii pointing controls during the magic brush moments is difficult to use though.

4 out of 5 stars Okami: PS2 vs Wii   November 16, 2008

Okami is a wonderful game and reminiscent of games such as Zelda. A vibrant and visually unique game set in a world seemingly pulled out of a painting. You play as the white wolf Amaterasu, a reincarnation of the sun goddess, and travel across the land of Nippon "purifying" locations of demons and a plague curse.br /br /Another aspect I love about this game is the dialogue. Unlike most Japanese games that need translating from Japanese to English, the dialogue in this game is funny and amusing (at least I think so).br /br /If you have this game for PS2 already and are happy with it I would say the Wii version isn't worth getting. The biggest different between the Wii version of this game from the PS2 version is the use of the Wii-mote to draw your brush strokes. What I had found from playing both versions is that the brush strokes are harder to draw accurately on the Wii version. I guess that would seem surprising to most, being that the cool part of the Wii version was the drawing aspect of the game. I suppose with practice this wouldn't be much of a problem but from experience, if you have the PS2 version, just stick with it.

5 out of 5 stars A work of art   November 4, 2008

I bought this game for my son, a creative, somewhat non-violent (although Halo-loving), DD playing 14-year old. He loves it to death and for good reason: it is absolutely the most beautiful, wonderful game we've ever seen. The professional reviews say it better than I could, but really there's no substitute for seeing it.br /br /I don't know how much I'll play it because, frankly, I like to run around and shoot stuff and this game has a lot more planning/figuring and less "conflict." And the wolf fights stuff like plants -- so it's family-friendly, too.br /br /Mostly it's beautiful. I watch the kid play without really knowing what's going on and that's just fine with me.
