This game is awesome! With some minigames its a pick-up-and-play deal, and with other minigames it takes some time to master. The game boards are very interactive. There isn't much to say about this game, it just naturally rocks.

You know you need to review your household budget and free time when you go out and splash $25 on a Nintendo 64 while the Gamecube is the Next Best Thing. That's what my wife and I did, picking up a bunch of games on the cheap. One of those games is Mario Party 2, a fun board game-style offering.pBasically, you play as one of 8 characters from the Mario universe against 3 other characters, either computer controlled or human. You can play in a variety of boards, such as Pirate Land and Western Land. Just like any other board game, you roll a die and move along the board, trying to collect coins and stars while avoiding things like cannonballs, trains, and Baby Bowser. At the end of each round of turns a mini-game is played which can earn winners more coins. There are over 60 mini-games, not counting the mini-battle games which occur on certain board spaces.pThe game is a lot of fun to play with friends (or your wife), but it takes a very long time to play, even with the short 20 turn mode. You can save games in progress, but it's not as fun to pick up a game midway through. Overall, though, this game has a lot of playability and longevity and, if you have a N64 unit, is worth having in your game collection.

Mario Party 2 was the last game I got for N64, or was it Mario Golf?, anyway, I bought it at gamestop. I would have bought the 3rd 1 but they didn't have anymore. I wanna collect all the Mario Party Games but I'll feel real embarrased if I get the 1st and 3rd ones for N64. I'm getting a Platinum Gamecube along with Mario Party 5 and Mario Kart Double Dash for Christmas. Don't feel embarassed if you still like this game because it's still a hot game.

If you sold your N64, you made an unfortunate mistake. Not only did this system have two games that were arguably two of the greatest, it also had a great multiplayer series called Mario Party. Thankfully, it is continuing on the Gamecube. Each one has a strength, and in the second one, it's the minigames. There are updates on 20 classics, like Bumper Balls, Shy Guy Says, and Desert Dash, along with 40 all- new ones, like Shell Shocked, Archer Rival, and- my favorite new one- Honey Comb Havoc. You have 6 players (Mario, Luigi, Peach, Wario, Donkey Kong, and Yoshi), 6 boards (Pirate Land, Western Land, Mystery Land, Space Land, Horror Land, and Bowser Land), each with a duel and item minigame that suits them, and plenty-o-fun. If you're looking for a series of 4 player bashes, then look for these four games.
