The Best Game for N64 November 14, 2001 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
One day while in the local Video Game Store I saw this game sitting on the shelf. I read about it on the back and decided to rent this game. Once home, it blew me away. This game is so cool, brand by far the best Nintendo 64 game out there. The Worms voices make it humorous while trying to survive while other worms are blowing up the places where you stand. The Concept may sound corny at first (as so I thought) but once you play it you'll love it. I wish I could rate this above a 5, but 5 is the maximum rate you could go. Keep this review in mind when renting or buying a video game. :)

A Definate Buy for the PC - Rental Only for the N64 August 1, 2000 17 out of 20 found this review helpful
Worms Armageddon for the PC is probably my favorite game of all time. I was quickly drawn towards it due to how funny it was, the high importance of strategy, and the range of options and statistics. While Worms for N64 still maintains the humor and strategy, it is lacking in too many areas to be worth buying. The very first thing that I came to dislike after buying the game was the bad resolution. On the PC version the res. can be changed to the point where you can see about a quarter of the total landscape. In Worms 64 this is much, much less. Shooting a shotgun, for example, across some water used to be an easy task. Now it's close to impossible due to the fact that you have to scroll so much that your worm is off the screen. I'm not talking about really hard shots either. The next thing I noticed was the complete lack of statistics. Sure, you can create your own team, but that screen where you can see total worms killed, lost, overall % ranking, levels completed (and with what type of medal recieved) is gone. This makes having your own team much less exciting. Also, the amount of options has been but close to nil. Whereas the PC version had over 30 sounds schemes, tombstone choices, victory music, etc., this version has about 6 of each. I know that having the whole range of sounds would probably be impossible on an N64 game but I still expected better. With all this said, I'm still going to give this game 3 stars because the PC version is practically a work of art, and someone who hasn't played that version will probably hold this version of the game in much higher regard than I have. Rent it for a good party game, but if you really like it but it for PC. The requirements are fairly easy to meet (P133).
Worms- better than you think! June 27, 2000 6 out of 10 found this review helpful
Worms Armaggedon was surprisingly fun and refreshingly un-quarky. Any game w/ worm in the title is automatically assumed a kid's game with a cheesy, A bug's life feel... this one strays from that stereotype and actually becomes a fun game! 4worms to a team, up to 4 teams, tons of interesting weapons and strateges, many variations on gameplay.
