A look at what to expect July 30, 2004 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've been a DK fan ever since DK country for the snes and I've always enjoyed DK games. Rare is a good publisher for the N64 and if you want proof play 007 Goldeneye. Anyway this game was a little bit disappointing. Why? Well for starters, the game's graphics arn't all that great even by N64 standards. I mean, it requires an expansion pack to play it and its graphics don't even come close to other exp. pack games like Starcraft 64, Perfect Dark, or The Legend of Zelda Majora's mask. But as far as the gameplay goes it's ok. There are rediculously childish parts of the game that are a bit anoying, however if you can sit through those dumb moments and get to the more jucy parts of the gameplay, you won't be too disappointed. There's a ton of secret stuff and many many puzzles to solve, so it will keep you busy for a while. Over all, its a great game and worth the money too.

A simple game, tons of fun to play. I recommend it to everyone!

I give this game 5 stars for fun because it is really very fun. But my overall rating is 4 stars because the characters do use some foul language.

Donkey Kong January 6, 2004 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bottom line is you will get a lot of game for your dollar. Even after the 35-40 hours to complete every single last objective the game, there's still a simple, but worthy multiplayer mode to keep you occupied. The real problem is that right to the end, it's just more of the same. There isn't the sharp contrast that DKCountry brought to the SNES as most hoped and expected. While no major ground is broken from Banjo Kazooie, Donkey Kong is still all there as a 3D platform game.
