5 out of 5 stars Mario still takes the top no matter what   January 9, 2007

This mario game, though the graphics are in the prehistoric age, still brings fun to the most hardcore gamers. It has a basic save the princess storyline, but you can chose whether or not you want to do a particular mission. It has many secrets to be learned and it's the very first 3d game, ever. Top notch game, I highly recomend it to all owners of the N64.

I remember back in the day, when my Dad and I would play this together when I was just a young'n. That was almost 10 years ago, but I still have my Nintendo 64. And of course, the classic masterpiece, Super Mario 64 to go along with it. This game has stellar graphics and takes you on an adventure that draws you in and keeps you there. You must get 120 stars to rescue Princess Peach. You go through 15 levels that include a two snow/ice levels, a fire level, a tiny-big level, a clock level, a desert/sand level, a cloud/rainbow level, and many more. Even a haunted mansion! This game is just so fun. It's unbelieveably hard to put down. You'll be addicted and playing for hours on end. Buy this game!

4 out of 5 stars Very entertaining, and also a bit chalenging.   December 23, 2006

I would highly recommend this game to any N64-er. It's challenging enough to keep you from getting bored, and it's also very entertaining. Granted, it does get a little too challenging at times. It may prove difficult to achieve all 120(?) stars. But a little hint from any free online guide will quickly solve any snags you run into. I do not advice purchasing this item from this venue; it's a tad bit expensive. You can go to any game exchange store, and buy almost any N64 game for usually $10 or less. But I do recommend this game!

5 out of 5 stars My opinion... The BEST there is, the BEST there was, the BEST there ever will be!!   December 15, 2006

I would give this game 10 stars if i could, and im very critical of my games!br /br /This game gave me one of my favorite memories as a kid when i got this and the system at funcoland the day after christmas in 1996. playing this all winter along with Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire was some of the best gaming experiences for me.br /br /In 11 days it will be ten years since i have had this game. 10 Years and it is still my all time favorite game. I really wished that Super Mario Sunshine would have been as much fun as Mario 64, but it just wasnt. I'm praying everyday that Super Mario Galaxy is just as good and gives me the same feeling that i had with Super Mario 64. They can delay that game a few years if they have to, just as long as it is as half as good as Mario 64!

5 out of 5 stars Why don't they make more games like this?   December 14, 2006

Of all of the games today, some of them make me gag. From boring gameplay to bad graphics. It just doesn't add up at all. Not at all. Sure there are some good games today such as Resident Evil 4. Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. Gears of War, Halo, Medal of Honor European Assault, and even classic games like super monkey ball, and the unforgettable Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. (Please note I haven't played all of these games). But there are bad games to. Examples such as Sonic Riders, Ant Bully, Redsteel, and Gundam Crossfire. But one game used to stand out. One game used to be one of the best games ever made. One game took out Playstation 1's Crash Bandikoot and Genesises Sonic the Hedgehog at the same time. YES.. at the same time!!! That one game is Nintendo 64's SUPER MARIO 64!!! Now if I remember right, this particular game was by far the best game I have ever played. Pros- I wonder where I should start. The gameplay is by far the best part about the game with Mario's many moves and the large scenery to roam. The graphics are pretty darn bad if you compare it to todays many games. But the graphics were top notch at the time. (Wait a second... how is this a pro? Oh well.) As I was saying the game is amazing. It also brings back memories from the older gamers who remember the first commercial, the first trailer, and the first demo. One word. SPECTACULAR!! Cons- Dated graphics. Thus ends the review. final score gameplay- 10, graphics- 8, value- 10, final score 9.8
