I just recently bought a used Nintendo 64. Let me tell you, it was a worthwhile purchase, if just for this game. I remember playing Super Mario 64 at my cousin's house many years ago. I was blown away by the sheer magnitude of the world in which you could explore. Being one of the first 3-D platformers, Super Mario 64 set the bar so high even Mario's super jump would have a hard time reaching it.br /br /Indeed, when purchasing my Nintendo 64, I made sure that Super Mario 64 was one of the games I included. And let me tell you, I'm still blown away, and the game was made more than 10 years ago! It's just outstanding.br /br /I love jumping into the paintings, sliding down slides, throwing "ba-bombs", gathering coins, all just to hear Mario say "Here we Gooooooooo!!" But that's not the only reason why I love playing the game. The sheer nostalgic value is worth the $16.00 or whatever they're charging you here at Amazon. I feel as if whenever I'm playing this game, I'm playing the game which defined a generation of gamers. br /

i found this game to be a challenge at first, used to the old side-scrolling games of mario it took some time to get used to the fact its now in 3D.br /if you like mario you will love thi 3D game.

Every now and then a start this game up from scratch and go seeking the 120 stars and the battles with Bowser. What makes this game so fun is that even though you master it there are several stars that are just so hard to get again (I don't know how many times I need to race the penguin down the chute before I can get one of the tougher stars). br /br /I really love the music and the toughness of Mario as he beats the baddies into submission with kicks, punches and smashes. Though the graphics may pale by today's standards they seemed so far ahead of their time when the game was introduced (it was one of the first 3-D graphic games around). br /br /I never tire of it.

Let me just say that this is one of the worst games i have ever played.br / All the reviews about this game say how wonderful it is "Oh it is abr / classic even now!" well i got it for [...] and it was a total waste!br / All the people who played this hunk of junk waaay back in 1998 werebr / just so distracted with the miracle of the joystick and the new 3Dbr / look that they did not notice the slippy controls, the poor game play,br / and the bad story line. I am very disaponted in this game.br / My sugestion to YOU the reader is to avoid this game entierly.br / get the legend of zelda ocarina of time insted.br / PS. the worst game i have ever played is sonic heros.br / PSS. Do not buy any sonic games they are sooo poorly made.br / PSSS. This is just MY opinion.br / PSS-All right enough alredy.
