I bought a Nintendo DS (Mario Kart package) as soon as I heard this game was coming out. And I have to say, I have absolutely NO REGRETS! If you don't have a DS, buy one. It's worth it just for this game. So fun!

I picked this game up last night thinking it would be a blast. Turns out this game isn't very challenging. I'm halfway through the second level and I'm getting bored. I'm hoping the game gets harder, or it gets more complex, or challenging, but I'm starting to doubt it. I also own Super Mario DS and this really does not compare on almost all levels. br /br /The polish on this game doesn't feel like what you'd expect from Nintendo today. It feels very rushed and lacks sharp graphic details. The visual elements, and graphics just aren't clean as I'd expect. Secondly, there's little to no wow factor -- aside from the (mini mushroom, and giant mushroom), but those get old quick. Additionally, the mini games are borrowed from Super Mario DS. The only addition I see to the mini-games is the ability to now play with a group of people. This shows a real lack of ingenuity on Nintendo's part. Also, the fonts aren't as fun and as developed as what you've seen in Super Mario DS.br /br /You can only save your progress at certain points in the game, once you beat a boss, or purchase extra paths on the map (giant couns). This feels quirky when you are trying to save your progress or power off. I find myself opening random paths just to get a save.br /br /Anyhow, I think that this will open up Mario to a younger fanbase. However, lacking polish, and wow factor I doubt it will catch on like other DS titles.br /br /Overall, I was expecting a lot out of Nintendo here. I paid 34$ retail ,but I don't feel like it was worth the price. br /br /Pros: Mario brand, Nintendo DS, Newbr /Cons: Weak graphics, lackluster gameplay, low challenge

I got home after getting this and was so excited to play it. I started and saw that there were only so many worlds and got worried. I thought this is going to be so easy and i'll finish it by tomorrow. Well I didn't it gets harder as you move along and I have 2 saves now one I just see how fast I can get through the game and the other I try to get all 3 stars. This game is so fun and if you like mario or games like it you will love this game. I have 4 games for ds. Mario and Luigi Partners in Time, Mario Kart DS, New Super Mario Brothers,Wario Ware Inc. and madden 2005 so mario is keeping me loving the DS. Now if only new original games would come out from sony I wouldn't feel like I wasted my cash on a PSP.

This game is one of the best DS games I've come across and their are a few of those. Anyway this game brings back old memories with the NES. The new items are cool and the new bad guys are somewhat diffrent. I do like how you face Bowser like the older games. Even when you face Bowser Jr. it's like facing the koppa kids in Super Mario Bro 3. Very good to all DS owners.

There are few things in the gaming world that could be referred to as a "must play" but this is one of them. Doesn't matter if you are a Nintendo fan or a Mario fan. If you are a gaming fan then you owe it to yourself to play this game.
