Fun game with good graphics October 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I like to ski and this game only intensifies my desire to get out on the slopes (unfortunately, I only go on ski trips once a year in a big bolus).br /br /The set up of your character allows you to pick various items such as clothing, skis, hat, goggles. Although tedious, it is fun for youngsters.br /br /The interface allows you to play with 2 players using the conventional remote/joystick. Unfortunately, you can only use the Wii Fit Board solo. That is a main limitation of the game. It would be ideal if you could use both the Wii Fit Board and joystick/remote for 2 players. That would add to the realism. Maybe a We Ski 2 is in the making for something to replicate real motions. However, this is still a fun game.br /br /The graphics are very good and augmented with my 50" Plasma, I can stare into the screen and at least, visually, feel like I am going down the terrain.br /br /Different modes such as solo racing, freestyle and racing with friends are various options. The split screen is a nice touch when racing with friends/family.br /br /Tutorials run you through the various maneuvers to get through various obstacles, various tricks and techniques. br /br /Despite its limitations, it is a game that can hook you into playing for several hours and really make you lose track of time. This is a wonderful game for family/friends. With the low price, it is also a very good value.
Meh October 18, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Was OK, but not the greatest. I e-bayed it shortly after getting it.br /br /When actually skiing it was fun, but far too much time was spent trying to get to the hills to do it. I'm looking forward to Shaun White, which looks to be much better.
WiiSki Disappointment October 9, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was looking forward to getting WiiSki because it looked like there would be a LOT of different runs and mountains to play on and I would have a chance to use my balance board. Well, the runs grow old after the first time down and really are just sections of other runs in many cases. They are all short. The ski lifts are boring and you just bypass them. The graphics aren't very good. You can play the game with two people but then you don't use the balance board.br /Overall, I could have better used my money on a PS3 game that has more to do and much better graphics.
We love Wii Ski October 9, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a definitely a game that will make you laugh and get a great workout at the same. I highly recommend it. My husband and I play it a few times a week.
so easy and childish game yet impossible to play October 8, 2008 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
this has got to be one of the worst wii games i ever played, even worse than trauma center. where do i start?br /for one its hard to control despite how simple the controls are, some of the challenges in the beginning of the game are nearly impossible to beat and the rating system. i thought it would be fair if the performance rating would average each rating such as turning and speed together, but no thats not the case, it takes the lowest grade and makes it the final grade, so if i got an A grade in everything and a D in turning, my overall grade would be a d. another thing, you are rated on how much you turn, which makes no sense because theres no reason to turn excessively on courses where you are going straight down, or courses that require little turning, you should only turn as much as you need to. i have had it with this game.br /how is this game so easy yet so hard, well when one of the training courses kept failing me cause i did not turn enough despite me turning the entire time. it was relatively easy to control cause i was getting used to the balance board, but it was failing me even though i did it right.br /br /it is not all bad, i kind of like how when im playing the game at night time i have the option to choose to play the game in the night time setting, but thats not saying much.br /br /i am usually the one not to complain about video game graphics, but these are just so bad, in some cases the graphics can get worse than the n64, like when people talk.br /br /another problem i have with this game is the lack of wii remote usages, all you to is push down to speed up and wiggle your arms in mid air do do a random airborne trick. i was not expecting much out of we ski, but i did not know it would be this horrible.
