so peaceful December 27, 2008 Purchased this for my 8-year-old son for Christmas even though he had never heard of it and did not ask for it. It just seemed like something he would enjoy. Well, I guess I was right for once. He just loves diving and exploring - although, when I told him that he could take lessons and actually dive in the ocean for real he said, "I like this a lot more, mom." Anyway, the music is so soothing and it really is an absolutely beautiful game. I definitey recommend it to people that want to take a little tropical escape without leaving the comfort of their living room.
Take a Dive!! December 27, 2008 Endless Ocean is an interesting game. It's relaxing, informative and fun. You are a diver in the Manoa Lai Ocean, and it's all yours to discover! You have a pretty nifty yacht and a companion on board that gives you the scoop. You control the boat by going to the cabin where you can record the species you discover and get new gear and receive e mails on your mobile-and you dive!br /br /You can dive day or night (provided you get the night goggles) and as you interact with the sea creatures you learn about them. You also can take people on dives who are thrilled to be discovering the sea with you.br /br /You have a nice big map of an area to investigate and you can navigate the boat anywhere you'd like. You search for species and try to find rare treasures when you dive. There is no time race, no fighting; it's truly relaxing and informational, not a stress laced beat them up type noisy game.br /br /I got a cd recently of old time radio shows so I turned that on, turned the music off of Endless Ocean (though the music is relaxing and very calm), and listened to my cd as I swam through the ocean and had a very nice time!br /br /The graphics are great - you can even sit on the deck chair and look off into the distance to take a break from diving.br /br /Neat game, especially if you or your young ones are interested in the sea and it's creature - this game will keep you intriqued.
The best for my kids! December 21, 2008 I agree that it's not for every kid. This game is great for kids who are imaginative and likes to explore. The great thing is that the kids are actually learning the names and habitat of sea creatures. There is a lot of reading. The game is slow paced, so it's not really interesting for kids who like the fast, adrenaline pumping type games. We've had this game for 4 months. My kids can not get enough; and I don't mind them playing this game for awhile.
Gift for grand-daughter December 16, 2008 This was a gift for my 3 year old grand-daughter since she was the only one in the family without a WII game. My son said she loved it but needed help with the controls. The rest of the family enjoyed it as well.
relax in the ocean December 15, 2008 Endless Ocean is a relaxing game that does not require killing anything. I like this about it. I can explore without timelimits or exploding bombs going off. It is educational but it does not get in the way of the fun of swimming with dolphins. My scuba friends are amused and enjoy the way it is set up.
