Good, but not Great June 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this guide at my local gamestop for 19.95. Right when I got it, I tore open the packaging and read it from cover to back. I was happy and unhappy. br /br /I liked the fact that it gave you a heads-up on the items and assist trophies. It gave you some strategies and home-run and target strategies, also. This is almost the first half of the book! What they really didn't need, however, was a complete section for every sticker possible. That ticked me off.br /br /Now we get to the stage and character strategies. I really wanted a stage map of all the levels saying "hazard here" or "loose block here" or something. All we got were a few small photos and a layout of the level. It was kind of helpful but pretty much all it took into account for was the hazards an tiers. br /br /Charcter strategies, however, were spot on. I loved that section. It gave you a bio, their moveset, some strategies with them, their weight class and KO potential, and even what to expect when fighting against them. It rated the character on offense, defense, final smash, speed, throwing ability, and projectile. It also gave you an overall rating for them. br /br /In conclusion, I would buy this strategy guide for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I wouldn't, however, expect much from it or pay 20 bucks for this.
Another Prima Essential May 11, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Nothing long winded, Prima guides are great and so is this one. If you want to get the most out of your gameplay you can't go wrong with Prima. By the way, Super Smash Bros Brawl is so freakin' fun.

What can I say, my son loves it and plays it very often. His time has to be limited on this game or that is all he would do. Worth it's weight in gold.
awsome April 10, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
this book is awesome it shows you strategies for the events, stages, and the home run contest AND target test. There is a full subspace emissary section and it tells you about the character (about there attacks, there tiers, if they are good in a 1vs1 or free for all match and it tells you strategies when you are fighting against them. I would recemend it to anyone with the game. :)
Great book! I took one star off because it's opinionated. April 7, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
This book provides exceptional reviews of individual stages and characters, plus guidance through the entire game. However, they gave my favorite character a 6 out of 10. I really disagree with this because I looked up other characters and the ones I've previously defeated had a higher rating than my character. This is ridiculous because it clearly demonstrates that, in a master's hands, a character can defeat anyone.br /br /Advice: my character is Zelda. The ability to control fireballs from a distance and teleport when the need arises has brought me many victories over other players. Try her out and see if you do well.
