 Absolute Trash! December 27, 2008
I purchased Ridge Racer 7 recently and I realized very soon that it was a very bad game. First of all, it is the hardest racing game I have ever played, and I have years of experience with racing games. I spent almost 30 minutes beating the first race! The in game experience is very poor, and I felt that the gameplay was always either exaggerated or boring. Save your time and money, and buy a good racing game such as Project Gotham Racing, not this.

This is probably the worst racing game I've ever played. I can't get the car to go around corners without spinning all the way around two or three times. I read the manual to try to figure out what I'm doing wrong (that in itself is a bad sign, you shouldn't have to read the manual just to figure out how to play a game) and the instructions on how to drift are really basic. br /br /The instructions are: br /1. Turn into the corner br /2. Let off the gas br /3. Turn through the corner. br /br /Sounds simple right? br /If only it worked that way. br /br /What ends up happening is you slide through the corner and then continue to slide all the way around and continue to slide. br /br /I'm not impressed. After trying to figure the game out for about 30 minutes I think it is time to go trade it in. Glad I only paid $[...] for it.

This game offers a all-new racing experience if you like movies like fast and the furious or games like Need for Speed or just plan racing then this game is for you.

ok here's the deal. this is obviously not a "sim" type of video game like some might say Gran Turismo is, but this game is a lot of fun, has good decent graphics and HAS SOMETHING VERY IMPORTANT A LOT OF OTHER RACING GAMES LACK, MAYBE I SHOULD SAY ALL OTHER RACING GAMES....br /MULPITPLAYER MODE PEOPLE! AND I MEAN SPLIT SCREEN LOCAL MULTIPLAYER!br /

I just started playing this game two weeks ago. I love it. The cars you can play are awesome looking cars that don't exist in real life. I was not a racing fan until I played this game. It got me hooked. You can play people all over the world in the Online Battle to really test your true skills. You get the sense that you are a real world class racer! Try it out, you will see what I mean. However, don't get frustrated when you fail to unlock new cars. You just need to retry a couple of times. Stick with it, and you will get better beyond your imagination.
