The only clue thus far is a train ticket for the Molentary Express. What could it mean, and who — or what — might have caused Dr. Schrader's death? In order to find out, Professor Layton and Luke will embark on an odyssey filled with challenging puzzles which may lead them to an object known as the Elysian Box, rumored to kill all who open it. p/ table align=right width=260 cellpadding=0 tr td height="194" div align="center"img alt="Luke and Professor Layton from 'Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box'" title="Luke and Professor Layton from 'Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box'" src="http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/videogames/detail-page/B002AU0HZQ.01a.sm.jpg" border=0 align=top width="250" height="319"br /div center span class="caption"Brainteasing fun with Professor Layton and Luke.br/ View larger./span /center /td /tr /table bGameplay/bbr/ As with other games in the iProfessor Layton/i series, gameplay in iProfessor Layton and the Diabolical Box/i is linked to a richly illustrated storyline, in-game environments and non-player characters (NPCs). iDiabolical Box/i takes this further than the original game, with more locations to explore, significantly more animated cutscenes and the deeper level of voice talent employed. As players move through the game with an aim towards solving the overarching mystery they will encounter characters who can forward their progress if they return the favor in advance by solving a puzzle. These brainteasers cover everything from mazes and riddles, to logic and sliding puzzles and everything in-between. There are no time limits on puzzles and 'hint coins' found and earned throughout the game can be used to purchase up to three hints per puzzle. The game cartridge contains 150 puzzles, but it is not necessary to solve every puzzle in order to finish the game. Those who do though and yearn for even more can access additional puzzles via a DS and/or DSi Wi-Fi connection. These will be released weekly for the first 33 weeks after game launch. In addition to standard brainteasing puzzle play the game also features a series of mini-games that although do not affect the outcome of the game directly, can help with players' interactions with NPCs, and thus have an impact on progress through the game, as well as serve to vary gameplay. p/ bKey Game Features/b ul liProfessor Layton and the Diabolical Box features a riveting new mystery and more than 150 new brain teasers, riddles and logic puzzles to challenge and delight players./li liBeyond the puzzles found in the game cartridge, players with a broadband Internet connection who connect their Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi systems to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection will get access to downloadable bonus puzzles. Great for All March 4, 2010 Brandon W. Anderson 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Professor Layton series is perfect for the casual gamer but can also appeal to intermediates or advanced players. It is a great game to play on the go and doesn't require a large block of time to play. The game features unique gameplay with the players answering brainteaser that range from tricky to downright challenging. This gameplay is layered over an engaging mystery story as intriguing as most mystery books. While the gameplay is fun and engaging it starts to get dull at some points. However, it is definitely worth playing to the finish. I recommend this game to any players 10 and older, including adults!
Umm...Wow February 10, 2010 Bethany Jackson 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
So, I got this game for Christmas from my brother (and the previous one the christmas before) and I've loved them. I honestly don't know how but this game just messed with my mind. With out giving any spoilers I'm just saying...wow...I love how ironic the endings always are and how it can just get you thinking weeks after you finish it. Also, on another note, the puzzles were great. I'm now in the process of replaying it to see if I can remember anything so I don't always have to use all of me hint coins. =/ But I'm serious, this game was amazing and anyone should buy it.
the sweetest most fun game i've ever played February 8, 2010 Carmen M. Ramirez (Chicago, IL USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First I found this game much more easier than the curious village, most of the puzzles are challenging but fun, some of them i still don't get i just guessed through them jaja, but the story line is perfect, almost made me cry, the graphics awesome, I loved it, and recommend it to anyone who likes puzzles slash mistery games, worth every penny !

Challenging, but satisfying February 5, 2010 J. Oman 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box is about puzzles. All progress through the game requires the solution to a puzzle, from the simple to the frustratingly complex. What makes each puzzle great is the sense of satisfaction that comes when the answer becomes clear, especially after the more formidable challenges.
br /A very fun game altogether, this is a puzzle-lover's cup of tea.
