4 out of 5 stars Pokemon Platinum   July 23, 2010

This game is a true "sibling" of the entire Pokemon series. The game play is the same with some individual twists and turns to make it fit into the "family" with its own talents to contribute. I bought it for one of my sons so that the entire family had one game each so that we could trade and battle with each other. I thank Nintendo for giving us another way to have family time and a way to stay connected with good clean fun.

After I gave away my Gold and Silver (Game Boy Color) versions of Pokemon, I did start to miss playing it. So, when I was given an Amazon gift certificate, I decided I'd buy Pokemon Platinum, since I learned a little bit about the plot details and was quite curious to play. Now, I'm not a massive fan Pokemon like I used to be when I was, say, 9 years old, but I must say this is an extremely fun little game. It has innovative features like Wi-Fi battles and trades, and other AI trainers who will randomly appear Pokemon centers for you battle repeatedly and gain more experience (the levels of their Pokemon go up the more you battle). At 21, I never thought I'd purchase another Pokemon game, but this one was worth every penny. If you have someone you know who's an avid fan of Pokemon, I'd highly recommend this game.

5 out of 5 stars Great fun, Great replay value, Great Game!   July 13, 2010

For any die hard Pokemon game enthusiast, this version will make an extremely entertaining and fresh addition to his or her collection. There are so many new features that make this version unique and interesting compared to others. One is the graphics which have been re-vamped with 3D textures built in with the classic sprite animations. A second is the new wide range of brand new Pokemon to capture and collect. Big fan of the classics? After one surpasses the Elite Four a new area is opened which is inhabited by all the originals for those old school players. A third great feature is the amount of activity. After the Pokemon League I had played for over 40 hours and that doesn't include the places available after the fact. The Battle Frontier is a facility where trainers just battle and is much better than in previous games with more challenges. All in all its a great game with tons to do, and everything is good the second time around. Only downside? Your "rival" is your best friend and is the most annoying rival ever. EVER. He has long dialogu and its all annoying. But he only takes up .1% of the game. Its a great game I recommend it to anyone who's gotta catch 'em all. 5 Stars

5 out of 5 stars Platinum is the bomb   June 10, 2010

4 out of 5 stars Not Much Different   May 2, 2010

This game is not much different from diamond pearl and it's not really worth buying unless you're a big fan of pokemon. Catching Giratina was very easy to catch if you use a bunch of ultra balls or a master ball but the legendary's are plentiful and graphics are much better than diamond pearl.
