Good Game For Kids Who Aren't Ready For Other Guitar Games January 8, 2009 "Pop Star Guitar" is a fun and easy game that game players will enjoy. The "Guitar Hero" series of games has made guitar and music related video games rise in popularity. "Pop Star Guitar" is a reasonable and easy to learn guitar game. People who purchase the game do not have to worry about purchasing a separate guitar related accessory. The game comes with two clip on Air G snap on skins that easily fit on top of the Wii remotes. The fact that two of the snap on skins are included are great for game players who would like to play with one of their friends.br /br /"Pop Star Guitar" features over 50 pop hits. The game play is not difficult to get started. Upon loading the game into the Nintendo Wii system users will be given the option to create their own band. The bands can be customized by gender and the game player can also choose new names for the band members. After the band is formed the game player is taken to a staging area that features options such as studio, cash book, magazine, game options, and rehearsal among other options. New players may want to start with the rehearsal screen. Rehearsing can give the game player a chance to get familiar with the game play. When the music begins the game player will have to immerse themselves into the game play. Dots fall down on the left side of the screen. The colored dots are to be coordinated pressed with the colored buttons on the Air G snap on featured on the Nintendo Wii remote. As the music plays the game player must hit the right colored button at the right time.br /br /The goal of the game is to create your ultimate customized band. Players can virtually do anything that they want to with their bands. They can take their band on tour, style them for magazine covers and book them for studio time. "Pop Star Guitar" is a really fun introductory music game for the Nintendo Wii player. This game will be fun for mature children who are interested in playing a sim style type of game and for pre-teens and adolescents who love music. The soundtrack for "Pop Star Guitar" features hit songs from Rihanna, Fall Out Boy, All American Rejects, Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus, 3 Doors Down, Simple Plan, and Panic at the Disco among other top groups. "Pop Star Guitar" is a fun game that is almost never ending in a sense as you can continue to take your band farther and farther and if you get tired of that band you can always create another band and start all over again. "Pop Star Guitar" Nintendo Wii version is highly recommended.br /br /"Pop Star Guitar" by Nintendo Wii is rated T for Teens.br /br /
Skip this one...unless you like frustration! December 30, 2008 We got this game as an alternative to the hard rock/metal in Guitar Hero. It looked great in the previews, unfortunately it didn't translate well into play. Long story short, I took it back for a full refund. The Air G is super uncomfortable, the game has no "no fail" option so if you are beginning, you lose immediately and have to stick to the same song over and over. The Air G does not work properly when you try to hit the notes because A) it cramps your hands and B) it just doesn't hit the notes properly. Believe me we tried, 2 adults with Guitar Hero experience and 2 kids and neither of us enjoyed the game after 2 days of play, my kids wanted to throw it in the trash. Took it back for a refund. Hopefully Guitar Hero and Rock band will release more kid/tween friendly music later on, but trust me, skip this one or you will be very frustrated and sorry you blew $60!
How to fix wiimote problem December 29, 2008 1. you can contact xs games and they will offer to replace the "defective" AirG. The problem is that the issue is a design flaw, so unless they changed the configuration midway through production it won't fix the problembr /br /2. I "fixed" mine be removing the two tiny screws and taking the home and plus buttons off completely. There are tiny springs behind them, maybe they are too long? My 8 year old can now play without any issues.br /br /I can't believe that no one at the company picked up on this issue. It is pretty crappy that they would charge 60 [..] for something which the average idiot can figure doesn't work.
Don't bother wasting your money or time on this one. December 27, 2008 I thought this was going to be easier for us to use (an alternative to the guitar for Guitar Hero). The songs looked more my style and more appropriate for my kids (12, 9, and 7). However, the pause/home button is just in the worst spot possible, every note my son hit he was pausing the game and he's finished the easy level on GH. I realize I could just be spastic, but the grip was very uncomfortable for me to hold on to and changing notes was a lesson in futility unless I stared at my fingers. br /br /The "easy" setting jumped right into using 3 keys rather than warming up with just two like GH does. There was only one song to play initially, you have to unlock all the rest, and when my husband did finish the first song, he unlocked a new tour vehicle, but no new song. Very boring, and annoying if you don't like that song (which I wasn't really into). I intend to return this, or resell it if I can't. There's a bunch of other games my family can play that will actually be fun.
Airg keys stick December 25, 2008 The approach to the Airg snaping over the Wii controller is fine but unfortunately the pair that came with my PopStar has problems pressing the underlying keys. (Colored key on the AirG when pressed in turn press down on some controller buttons)br /br /One of them moves just enough on the controller that the game thinks I'm pressing the Green button and the other simply won't snap into place without one key or another getting stuck.br /br /I just bought the game and these AirG add-ons are preventing me from evaluating the game play. I fully plan on returning it shortly and expect an exchange; hopefully the replacements won't have the same problem.
