4 out of 5 stars Deer Drive Offers Fast Paced Pick-up-and-Play Fun   December 29, 2008

I'll try to keep it short and to the point.br / br /Deer Drive is a blast (no pun intended). Not only is it about $10 cheaper than most hunting games, but it is the only simultaneous multiplayer hunting game on the Wii (at least to my knowledge). In addition to the single player mode and the 2-player simultaneous mode Deer Drive also features a "Party Mode" where up to 4-players can hunt down some woodland critters - sounds like fun, but I have yet to play this mode. br /I would say that Deer Drive's best feature lies within its core style of gameplay. It captures nostalgic "arcade" feeling, which is a plus in my book...especially with the simulation type games out there like Cabela's where you have to go hunting animals down and if you miss you have to wait for like 30 minutes before something else comes along. br /br /If you dig hunting games and own a Wii this is a definite must-buy and highly recommended for use with the Wii Zapper or a Nyko Perfect Shot (tested with both). br /br /Have fun huntin' ;)

I bought this for my husband and we have just spent the past hour and a half playing it...so much fun and we have only started with the basic one player beginner mode and the hunting party mode...My husband an avid hunter enjoyed the game very much and is looking forward to playing it alot more...although he claims the beginner mode is fairly simple we found it does get harder as you go up in rounds...br /br /We played the hunting party mode and that was fun challenging each other and better yet you use the same Wii remote so you don't have to have 2 nunchucks...As a beginner of shooting games I had a great time and it wasn't too hard in the beginner mode - in fact we had our daughters cheering us on - so it was great for the whole family - be it playing or watching...br /br /The game recommends playing with the Wii Zapper and unfortunately none of the stores had one in stock so I picked up the Verge brand Wii Laser (1/2 price of the Zapper...and even less because I managed to get it at 50% off as well) and it works great with that - so great I am planning on picking up another one and finally going to buy that second nunchuck in order to play the challenge mode. br /br /We don't have any of the other hunting games for the Wii so we have nothing to compare - I would say if you are looking for a great basic shooting style game that is fairly easy to control and do with the added bonus of being a group play activity this is a great game...plus the price is right at $29.99

I love shooting games, always have. My happiest memories as a kid were shooting my first BB gun and later playing the original Duck Hunt. In the army I qualified as a sharpshooter with the M-16, and over the last few years I've spent a fortune in dollar bills playing Big Buck Hunter at my favorite watering hole.br /br /When we got a Wii the first game I bought was Cabala's. I hated it... it wasn't about shooting, it was a slow and hard to control simulation, where you walk through the pixel forest forever, and only get a shot off every now-and-then. The main challenge is not to die of old age before bagging your first deer. And I've looked at some of the other shooting games on the Wii, and most of them seem to have the same problem. And a few have mechanical problems... like aiming systems that don't work. I had just about given up, then I got Deer Drive.br /br /Deer Drive is lots of fun. It doesn't pretend to be a simulation. Its basically see the animal, shoot, rinse and repeat. But its fast, its challenging, it works well, looks good and it has a cool simultaneous mode for two people or a party mode for up to four. Its not exactly Big Buck Hunter, but if you'd like one, you'll like the other.br /br /The game isn't all that deep, and you won't want to play for more than a couple of hours at a time by yourself. But it makes for a fun afternoon or evening with friends, and even by yourself it can be a blast. br /br /Five stars for funbr /Four stars overall - I'd recommend this to anyone that likes shooting games. But it would have been nice to have an online mode, and maybe a slightly longer one player mode.
